Ebifurai-no-shippo – Tail of Fried Shrimp

San-X, makers of Rilakkuma, has made a new series of kawaii characters, Sumikko Gurashi, which literally means “living in the tiny corners.” He is an “ebi-fry” or breaded and fried shrimp with his tail sticking out of his head. This fluffy and soft plush is amazingly lovely. A nice item for the fans of the Sumikko series and great to display in your room. A San-X product.

Product Description

Literally Sumikko Gurashi means ‘Corner Living’. All the cute little characters are super shy which is why they like to hide in the corner where they feel safe. They can be seen as a reflection of Japanese society, as many Japanese people can be very shy, so being in the corner of a place makes them feel more comfortable, because they get a feeling of security. Ebi furai no shippo – tail of a fried shrimp. He is best friend with Tonkatsu (Pork Cutlet). The bow tie on his head is actually shrimp tail.
